Butcher’s Dinner & Barn Dance

Join us for the 3rd annual Butcher’s Dinner & Barn Dance at Medicine Creek Farm, just outside Finlayson, on Saturday, September 13, 2025. This farm-to-table celebration promotes healthy food, family farms, and care for the land and water, while offering a fun and memorable evening for all ages.

The event includes an educational farm tour, kids’ activities, and a market promoting area farmers and makers, before we serve a locally-sourced meal (featuring products from Medicine Creek Farm, Yker Acres, Abraham's Table Farm, Food Farm, Rising Phoenix Farm, and more) in collaboration with Denham Run Bar & Grill and Baptism River BBQ.

We end the night with an old-fashioned barn dance featuring live classic country music from honky-tonk band Heartbreak Affair. It’s a great time for families, friends, farmers, food enthusiasts, and community members of all ages.

Event Impact:
In September of 2023 and 2024, the Butcher’s Dinner & Barn Dance brought together over 125 people each year. Guests strolled the pastures to meet the animals, shopped from local farmers, ate together in community, and danced the night away. An exit survey showed 100% of respondents left with valuable new insights on local food and farming.

Sponsorship donations go directly to Medicine Creek Farm. This event is presented in partnership with Renewing the Countryside, the Sustainable Farming Association, and the Minnesota Farmers Union, and is partially funded by a SARE grant.
